It is a big promise coming from Microsoft this time. Well no problem, it is one sure to turn in the groove. Microsoft is planning on slashing the sizes of updates to Windows 10; such that updates will not be as large as they were previously. You will agree with me that this is pretty needful.
One way Microsoft hopes to realize this is via a new Unified Update Platform (UUP) . “One of the biggest community and customer benefits of UUP is the reduction you’ll see in download size on PCs,” explains Bill Karagounis, who occupies the position of a Windows program manager, through a blog post. “We have converged technologies in our build and publishing systems to enable differential downloads for all devices built on the Mobile and PC OS.”
What Microsoft is aiming at is reducing download capacity by over 33%. If Microsoft realizes this, it will be a big step forward most particularly for Windows 10 users. This reduction program will greatly introduce ease when they transfer from one big update to another. You will understand how well this means for our data plan. With this in place, it is going to make it much easier and faster for Microsoft to roll out updates to Windows 10 machines.
So far statistics reveal that Microsoft has recorded success in updating over 400 million Windows 10 devices, with Microsoft already immersed in a weekly program of shipping out beta builds to Windows Insiders. This is a significant change from what we had some years back, there is the strong hope this will greatly improve Windows attraction in the general public.
